Product Description

The regimental tie traditionally descends from the “old school tie”, worn for the first time in 1880 by members of the Exeter College Boat Club at Oxford University. During the early 1900s, Oxford and Cambridge students, sports club members and members of military regiments would wear the regimental tie as a symbol of belonging, identifying themselves by way of a distinctive combination of colours and stripes. In the United States, the Ivy Leaguers were the first to catch on, cementing the accessory as a symbol of preppy style. Sebago presents its own take on the iconic accessory in pure silk with a vibrant combination of wide green and blue stripes and thinner yellow and red stripes.
